About the role:
As a scientist within Cellular Pharmacology, you will play an essential role in supporting internal and client projects. You will work alongside a team of experienced scientists and will learn to evaluate and discovery potential new drugs for a broad range of projects, molecular targets and therapeutic indications.
In this role, you will provide cell biology project support, ensuring optimal maintenance of cell lines and supply for a range of cell-based assays. Please note that this is a full-time onsite position on a 12-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave.
Role Responsibilities:
Design and execute experiments with/without supervision, under relevant instruction to meet approved timelines and objectives.
Analyse, interpret and communicate the outcome of experiments to the project leader and/or team.
Checking availability and ordering of equipment.
Support projects by developing professional interpersonal relationships within the team, working with others to meet team objectives, and providing practical help and assistance to others as appropriate.
May contribute to publications and/or be part of presentations at external meetings.
Develop experience and independence with scientific skills relevant to project assignment e.g. tissue culture, screening, principles of assay development.
Skills & Qualifications:
BSc/MSc in relevant discipline e.g. Biology or a related life science discipline.
Industrial placement experience gained within a pharmaceutical company, Biotech, or CRO would be advantageous.
Knowledge and experience of practical laboratory techniques. Cell culture experience would be advantageous.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work well within a team.
